I try a lot of plugins, and some of theme just never get updated to a fully mature version. One plugin I’ve had a few years has been through multiple revisions that’s one of my favorites is the WP Testimonials Plugin.

It does the job well, for exactly what you would expect. You enter the testimonials, and then you can display them in a full “testimonials” page, or a sidebar widget (click image for full size view):

here’s the screen where you enter testimonials in your wordpress dashboard admin:

The screen is setup for client name, company, web site, short and long description, image, and sort order. The funny thing about it is, you might think because of the labels, that all you could use this plugin for would be is testimonials on a business web site.

Guess what, you don’t have to use all the fields! And you can put whatever you want in them. Use this plugin just as easily for random quotes, featured products, affiliate links, etc.
