If you’ve had a web site for any length of time, you probably already know what an XML sitemap is, and if you want to get indexed in all the 3 big search engines (as soon as you post) – you know you need to register that sitemap with them in “webmaster” control panels at each search engine.

This means that for each (Yahoo, bing, google) you have to go through a “verification process”, to ensure you are the actual owner. That means you either have to edit your theme and add some meta tag code, or upload an HTML file for each search engine. What a PITA if you ask me.

I’ve recommended the Robots Meta plugin for a long time, where you can administer your htaccess files, robots.txt, and also your search engine registrations – all in one plugin.

If you don’t need all those features, just use the All in One Webmaster plugin to manage all 3 search engine registrations.
