Recently I had a blog where I had to mass publish a lot of pending posts and drafts all at once (hundreds), and the thought of cycling through them one by one was really annoying to me. I spent a few minutes searching and searching for just the right plugin, and while there were many for mass deletion and mass category moves (which I’ve written about previously), there were non for mass publishing posts that are drafts.

Leave it to my old friend the WordPress Codex to help me out in my time of need! I found that the place I should have been looking all along was my very own WordPress dashboard!

Check it out:

mass publishing posts wordpress

I you click all 10 posts at once and then “edit” you get th hidden menu in the image above. If you can’t see it all, click it for full view. Then, you can do whatever you want to all 10 posts at once!

Nifty!

Thanks for pointing out this hidden menu. I was going a bit mad trying to find a plug-in when it was there all the time. Not exactly “staring me in the face” though.

I’ve located the said “hidden” menu before and have it up in WP right now. I must be missing something though because I don’t see a bulk publish option anywhere on that drop down screen. Sure, there are plenty of optoins – but none that converts draft posts to published posts in bulk or on mass.

What daft thing am I doing wrong?

bring up “posts” and then click the checkbox to “select all” at once. Then choose “edit” from the action dropdown and click “apply” to see the screen in the image.

    =)
