About Wordpress Directory:
My name is John Pratt and I’m a full time blogger and a Wordpress consultant. My main blog is www.jtpratt.com, and I have many articles series for Wordpress theme hacks, plugins and theme reviews, blogging tips, and articles about making money blogging with Wordpress.
I created Wordpress Directory because I wanted a place to store all the WP references I could find. There are review sites for themes, and plugins, and even some that list Wordpress powered blogs. None seem to have “everything Wordpress”, so I started WP Dir to become what I’ve always been looking for.
Also – most directories I’ve seen were powered by some PHP script and not even Wordpress, so I wanted to take this opportunity to show everyone that you can build a world class directory using Wordpress itself! I tried all the free plugins, and none of them had all the features I wanted. As matter of fact, this site was just an idea until I found the WP Directory Pro premium Wordpress plugin. It not only has all the features I wanted – it even has it’s own sitemap to submit to the search engines just for the plugin!
